ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Democratic Senator Charles Schumer has announced a bill that would provide funding for schools to test their water supplies for lead.
The legislation would allow schools to use $100 million in federal grants under the Environmental Protection Agency to test their water supplies. This legislation comes after two elementary schools in Ithaca found dangerous amounts of lead in their water.
