Big court victory for Seneca Casino in Buffalo

Posted at 6:37 AM, Sep 16, 2015

The U.S. Court of Appeals has affirmed an earlier lower court ruling that the Seneca Nation's Buffalo Creek Casino fully complies with federal law.

The court has rejected claims brought by the Citizens Against Casino Gambling that the federal government should not have approved the Nation's gambling operations in Buffalo.

A $40 million expansion at the casino has just been announced and that work is expected to begin by next month. When it's all done the Buffalo Creek Casino will employ 300 people in the booming Inner Harbor area downtown.

No word yet on weather the Appeals Court decision might be appealed by the anti-casino group, it says right now it is exploring its options.
