Beatles music fundraiser helps local students

Posted

The Lewiston Council of Music is hosting a new event titled, 'TWIST AND SHOUT' on Saturday.

The event, which is a celebration of Beatles music, benefits the 'Instruments for Peace' (IFP). If you have any musical instruments that have been sitting around, you are asked to bring them to the event where they will be donated.

Established in memory of Ryan Henderson, IFP provides instruments to LewPort students who wish to pursue their love of music, but who may not be able to afford an instrument.

Even instruments in rough shape are welcome, as Tony Petrocelli, from Lewiston Music, has volunteered to refurbish them before he sends them on to Lew-Port's music program.

Several local bands, as well as students from Lewiston Music will be performing throughout the event.

The fundraiser costs $5 and takes place at The Stone House, 755 Center St, in Lewiston from 4pm - 10pm.
