The Department of Environmental Conservation had their hands full Friday morning.

A crowd gathered on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda where a bear was sighted.

The DEC and North Tonawanda Police were on scene trying to zero in on the location of the bear.

This is the second bear sighting in two days in Western New York.

A bear was spotted by Amherst Police Thursday in Getzville near the I-990 and Crosspoint Parkway after they received a report of a bear in the Ransom Oaks area in the Town of Amherst.

The patrol officer took video of the bear and shared it on social media.

No word on whether that bear is the same bear spotted in North Tonawanda.

Officials are urging residents not to approach if you see the bear or any bear.  Instead, they encourage you to call 9-1-1 and report the location.
