The Better Business Bureau says beware of fake opioid treatments.
Both the Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration recently issued a warning to companies deceptively advertising these treatments.
According to the BBB, the scam begins with an ad for a product that claims to ease opioid withdrawal symptoms. The BBB says many of the phony products claim to be a "miracle cure" with "guaranteed" results.
The BBB says people should avoid products making these claims as they are not FDA-approved. Consumers can call 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or visit SAMHSA.gov for confidential and free information.
