Bald for Bucks a huge success in West Seneca

Posted

Students in the West Seneca Central School District can hold their bald heads high. Their Bald for Bucks fundraiser was a huge success.

'West Side Bald for Bucks,' which was formed by all five schools on the west side of the West Seneca district, raised $47,221.77 on April 8. Eighty-eight participants either shaved their head or donated at least eight inches of hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

"I am so incredibly proud of all our students and enjoyed the opportunity to bring all of our west side schools together for one fabulous evening," said Aimee Smart, a social worker at West Middle School. "It was great for us to unite for a common cause."

More than a dozen students single-handedly raised more than $1,000, with Allendale Elementary student Carson Guise leading the way with $2,186 in donations.

A number of local businesses also donated to a basket raffle as part of the event, including Great Clips, Contintental School of Beauty, Carmen's Catering and Just Pizza.
