BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — A skier has died after being buried by an avalanche near Park City, Utah.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office says two skiers in the backcountry triggered the avalanche Saturday afternoon.
Authorities say one of the skiers tried to help the other one, but had to leave the trapped skier behind due to extreme avalanche danger.
Rescue crews found the body of the 57 year old victim on Sunday.
He has been identified as Kurt Damschroder of Park City.
