BUFFALO, N.Y.(WKBW) -
AT&T will be the first major carrier to launch a standards-based 5G mobile service in more than a dozen cities across the country later this year.
The carrier along with others are already laying the ground work for the latest mobile network. AT&T has deployed 5G EVO in 23 cities including Buffalo. This means some AT&T users maybe experiencing some faster speeds.
5G will ultimately deliver and enhance experiences like virtual reality, future driverless cars, immersive 4K video and more.
Currently there are no smart phones or tablets equipped to operate on 5G. Experts believe companies like Apple, Google, and Android could be releasing new devices by the end of Summer 2018.
