Buffalo police are piecing together a deadly crash in the city, and investigators believe speed was to blame.
Crews were called to the scene on Mendola Avenue just before 4pm on Monday. Investigators say the car was traveling southbound from Kensington Avenue when it slammed into a tree.
Two people were in the car at the time, both were rushed to ECMC. A male later died at the hospital, we're told a female is listed in critical condition.
Investigators are now trying to determine who was driving. No names have been released at this point.
