After 15 years, the president of Artpark will step down next year.
George Osborne, who has led the rejuvenation of the park with the “Tuesday in the Park” concert series, will step down in October 2015.
During his tenure, Osborne has more than doubled annual attendance at Artpark, implemented major capital improvements, and created a summer home for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
“I am very pleased with my accomplishments at Artpark and am proud of the growth we have achieved over the past 15 years, but I am ready to pass the baton on to the next generation of leadership,” Osborne said in a statement.
At the request of the board of directors, Osborne will remain a part-time management consultant through at least the 2016 season.
Artpark & Company’s contract to manage Artpark is up for renewal with New York State Parks in 2017.
