Arrest made after man crashes into wall of Clarence Walmart

New York State Police report Thomas Griffin II, 30 of Newstead drove his vehicle into a cement wall in the Clarence parking lot on Saturday.

After evaluation by an Erie County Deputy Drug Recognition expert, it was determined Griffin was impaired. 

He was in possession of a controlled substance and his 2-year-old son, who was unharmed, was in the car at the time of the incident. 

Griffin is charged with felony DWAI, due to the child being in the car and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

He was released following a blood sample and will appear back in Town of Clarence court at a later date.
