An arrest has been made in connection to a deadly fire on Buffalo’s east side that claimed the lives of two men.

Al-Shariyfa Robinson, 40, of Buffalo is charged with two counts of second degree murder and second degree arson. Police say after months of investigation, Buffalo fire marshals and arson investigators determined she intentionally set the fire.

Crews were called to Curtiss Street around 4 a.m. on October 10. A wheelchair-bound man and the man trying to help him out of the home were killed.

The victims were identified as Edward Hughes, 58, and James Hodges, 64. It’s unclear which man was in the wheelchair.

The home that went up in flames had 10 units and eight others were displaced.
