With school out for summer, many kids in Buffalo are going without a healthy meal everyday.

So today anti-hunger advocates launched a free summer meal program at Hennepin Park Community Center. The program is available to all children and teens ages 18 and under. Buffalo City Schools Nutrition Director Bridget OBrien Wood, former Buffalo Bills player Brian Moorman, and a dairy farmer from Richmond Farms in Eden, New York came out promote the program.

According to the USDA, only one in 10 kids who are eligible for free summer meals actually get those meals. That means around 19 kids remain un-served. Thats why its so important to get the word out these meals are available.

And the best part?

No registration or ID is required. You just show up at Hennepin Park and get your free lunch!
