Former New York State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos has been sentenced to five years in prison.

A jury found Skelos and his son guilty of using the senator's political clout to gain jobs and earn money for his son.

This is the second former lawmaker to be sentenced within the past 10 days.

Last week, Sheldon Silver, the former Democratic speaker of the State Assembly, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in a separate corruption case.
