Another reason to be excited for summer: Western New York's popular beach club and bar will open for another season.
According to Buffalo Business First, Ellicott Development will reopen Mickey Rats this year, but it will be a truncated version and perhaps sport a different name.
The Town of Evans summer staple closed in September 2017 after 44 years in business.
Ellicott Development purchased the property about year prior to Mickey Rats' last hurrah, but the company has been tight-lipped about what it plans to do with it. Business First has reported that the company plans to built apartments and condominiums along with maintaining the site as a bar and summer destination.
