Angry driver chokes man in car ahead of him while stopped at a red light

A North Tonawanda man is facing several charges after a road rage incident.

City of Tonawanda Police say Douglas Everett, 40, was driving on River Road in North Tonawanda and began following a 22-year-old driver until a red light in the City of Tonawanda at Seymour and Fletcher Streets.

Police say Everett got out of his car at a red light at Seymour and Fletcher Streets and started fighting the other driver.

Officers say Everett pulled the man out of a car and began choking him.

Officer Mathew Wark witnessed the altercation and arrested Everett.

Everett is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing (choking charge), attempted assault, menacing, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Everett was held on $500 bail.
