A popular Amherst restaurant has been forced to shut its doors, as New York State seizes the business.

The Original Honey's restaurant, at 4300 Maple Road in Amherst, was seized by the State Department of Taxation and Finance due to non-payment of back taxes, according to a sign posted on the door of the building.

The owner, Larry Pacifico, tells the Buffalo News that he was "blindsided" by the seizure and that he is working with attorneys to fix the issue.
