Having chicken wings for the big game this weekend? You won't be alone. Americans' consumption of the football staple is expected to hit 1.33 billion wings this Sunday, that's according to the recent report from the National Chicken Council.
The estimate is up 30 million wings from 2016, and 80 million wings from the 2015 report. That is a lot of bleu cheese!
In fact according to the NCC -
-1.33 billion wings is enough to circle the Earth almost three times.
- Eating two wings per minute, it would take an NFL player 1,265 years, 80 days, 7 hours and 12 minutes to eat 1.3 billion chicken wings.
75 percent of people that consume chicken wings during the big game will get them restaurants. 25 percent will purchase them from retail stores.
