Downtown Buffalo could be only months away from having a new option for movie-goers. AMC Theatres tells 7 Eyewitness News that the 'AMC Market Arcade 8' is "on schedule' to open later this summer.
The company shared the update in an email to 7 EWN on Monday but wouldn't get into details about a construction schedule for the Main Street property.
AMC Theatres announced a long-term lease agreement with the Benchmark Group which owns the Market Arcade last August. At the time AMC said construction would begin by early 2018. AMC wouldn't confirm if construction was underway when contacted on Monday.
The AMC Market Arcade 8 will feature eight auditoriums in the 35,000 square foot building.
The original plan had the theater opening in April of 2016.
