An Akron man was arrested after deputies responded to a two-vehicle, head-on crash in the Town of Newstead on Thursday morning.

Greg Morrison, 42, of Akron, was involved in the crash on South Newstead Road when his vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and struck an oncoming vehicle, police say.

According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, deputies discovered Morrison possessed Suboxone strips.

He was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert from the Sheriff's Office. The DRE determined at the time of the incident, Morrison was impaired by drugs.
