The Erie County Sheriff's office clears Alden high school following lockdown.

On Thursday morning, the Sheriff's Office was investigating allegations that a student was talking about making bombs to other students.  Alden High School administrators checked the student's locker and discovered a device with a battery and wires.  Following the discovery, the school followed its lockdown procedures, and multiple Sheriff's units were dispatched to the scene.

Bomb technicians determined the device was benign and explosive detection K9s cleared the school.  Detectives were able to determine the student did not possess bomb-making materials and no criminal charges will be filed.
