AAA staying busy as temperatures drop

This burst of bitter cold in Western New York is keeping AAA very busy in responding to requests for road side service.

On a typical winter day the car care service says it responds to an average of 470 calls. Over the last couple of days that number has almost doubled to 750.

"This is the temperature in which you're going see most batteries fail," said Christian Tabak from the AAA. "They just can't sustain the starting in the cold."

The AAA says dead batteries are the most common calls they receive when the temperatures drop below freezing.
