As a major snowstorm bears down on the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Coast, air travelers are being told to prepare for widespread cancelations and delays.

In anticipation of the powerful storm, Delta, United and Southwest Airlines are offering travel options for people heading in, out or through impacted airports this coming weekend.

Consultants with AAA WCNY are also on standby for any members looking to change their travel plans.

It's important to note, while the storm is expected to miss the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas, hundreds of travelers will likely be affected by the storm. Major hubs likely to be impacted include:

  • Baltimore
  • Boston
  • New York City
  • Newark, NJ
  • Philadelphia
  • Washington D.C.

Wednesday night we spoke with Amherst native, Maggie Lubinski, who now lives in Washington, DC. She says shoppers are getting pretty frantic ahead of the storm.
