The young girl who was severely burned in last month’s deadly fire on Humber Avenue in Buffalo is on the road to recovery. That’s according to her mother, Tempest Thomas.
Thomas said her 8-year old daughter, Treasure remains in the hospital in Cincinnati. But, she could be out in the next 90 days. Thomas said she'd have to go back for check-ups until she's an adult. For now, Wings of Hope is making Thomas’s trips from Buffalo to Cincinnati possible.
It’s definitely a lot of stress. My focus is team Treasure right now. That’s all I can do right is force on Treasure, and my other kids, and maintain and move forward with life. That's what Demetrius, the one that gave his life for me and my kids to get out the house, would want us to move forward and for me to keep his kids happy and safe,” Thomas said.
Both Treasure's father, 24-year old Demeterius Johnson, and Juan Montanez died in the fire.
