A little boy is now at Women and Children's Hospital after police say he was hit by a dirt bike.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Ferry Avenue in Niagara Falls around 3:20 Friday afternoon.

Investigators say the driver of the dirt-bike, whose name hasn't been released, blew past a stopped school bus with a lit stop sign and flashing red lights, hitting the 7-year-old boy as he was crossing the street.

Police say the boy, a student at Harry E. Abate school, was rushed to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo where he's being treated for leg and back injuries.

Police say the dirt bike is considered an "off highway" use vehicle, and is not supposed to be driven on city streets.

The driver is currently facing several charges. He's set to be arraigned on Monday.
