5K to celebrate life of Hamburg High School graduate

This year's Bulldog Dash 5K will have special meaning. 

The Hamburg race will celebrate and honor the life Hamburg High School alum Conor Long. 

Long died while hiking at Zoar Valley in July. 

Long was at 2017 graduate of Hamburg High School and was very active at school and in his community. He served as the student representative on the Hamburg Central School Board and as Student Government President.

Hamburg Central School District Superintendent Michael Cornell said Long was an upstanding student and citizen.

"Any parent would want their son to grow up to be like Conor," Cornell said.

Bulldog Dash 5K takes race Saturday at Hamburg High School. The race will start at 9:30 a.m. Proceeds will go towards benefiting the Hamburg Bulldogs Booster Club, the Hamburg High School Health Science Academy and Unyts.
