Cheektowaga was colored in red, white and blue to celebrate America's birthday. The 42nd Annual Independence Day parade is a tradition that locals love to attend.

One resident, Dalisha McCarley, has been watching the parade with family for ten years and says the parade is important because it brings the community together.

Connor Hale knows the parade has a patriotic message as well.

"To appreciate everybody that served in the Army and our flag," Connor said.

The celebration is not over until the last firework crackles. Firework displays will be happening all over town tonight, head over to WKBW.com to find a location near you.
