BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — If you have a teenager, you’ve probably warned them about what they should and shouldn’t post on social media. Turns out they might have the same advice for you!

42 percent of teens in a recent study say they have a problem with what their parents post about them. And one in ten say it’s a big problem.

There’s even a term for it, "sharenting."

Experts tend to agree with the teens- they remind parents that some things they might see as funny, can actually hurt a child’s self esteem.

Criticizing them in public and online can have long lasting effects.
