Orchard Park Police say a 4-year-old girl was injured after a gun accidentally went off at the girl's Orchard Park home.
Police say around 4:45 Sunday night, police were called to the Sandpiper Court address regarding the accidental discharge of a firearm.
The child was conscious and police say was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Women and Children's Hospital.
Orchard Park Police Chief Mark Pacholec says he spoke with the girl's mother who says she is expected to be released Monday.
"Orchard Park Police and the Erie County District Attorney's Office are investigating this case," the chief said.
