The Original Crunch Roll Company has its products in hundreds of restaurants across Western New York and you can buy its snacks in many Tops Friendly Markets grocery stores. There's also a food truck roaming the area serving the popular dish.

But the president of Original Crunch Roll Company, 21-year-old Zachary Bohn, is still getting used to this rapid success.

"I think we're definitely surprised on how quick things are happening and how quick they're evolving," he said.

We caught up with Bohn while he was serving crunch rolls to customers at Orchard Fresh in Orchard Park. With a strong foothold already secured in local restaurants, the company is focusing its expansion into retail.

Bohn just struck a deal with 7-Eleven to serve his crunch rolls hot and ready at 600 locations. The company hopes that partnership can grow and get the snack into more of the nearly 8,000 locations across the country.

Bohn runs the company, that employs about 20 people, with his father. The pair developed the crunch roll in the family's restaurant, Mac's on Hertel.

"It's kind of a unique and new thing for people," Bohn said. "People don't really know what it is when they initially see it or hear about it, but once they taste it they're hooked."

They have buffalo chicken and banana pepper crunch rolls, a nod to two of Buffalo's signature dishes.
