A police officer was taken to the hospital after a two-car crash at Delaware Avenue and Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda.
The crash at 8:30 a.m. Thursday pushed the police vehicle, which had its lights and siren activated, into a pole, damaging the traffic signal at the intersection. Delaware Avenue was closed northbound at Sheridan Drive for almost six hours while the accident was investigated.
The Town of Tonawanda Police officer was taken to the hospital for observation but is not believed to be seriously injured. The other driver was not injured.
