BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — "It's like I can see and hear my grandson."
It's been a week since a massive fire ripped through a home on Shirley Avenue in Buffalo, and tore a family apart days before Christmas.
The fire took three lives, 4 year-old Cianna Jones, her 26-year-old aunt Brianna Ross and a day later 8-year-old G'Shawn McGee who died in the hospital.
A balloon-filled memorial now sits outside the charred home.
7 Eyewitness News spoke with a teacher from G'Shawn's School, Bennett Park Montessori at the scene Wednesday. The teacher did not want to go on camera, but was overcome with tears after she left a teenage mutant-ninja-turtles stuffed animal at the spot where her student died.
She says McGee was very loved at his school, and was a great student.
Darryl Grinage not only lost his two grandchildren in the fire, but his daughter Brianna as well.
The family says they need community financial support to pay for the three funerals.
