An ice-cold milkshake may not be the first thing you think of when you’re looking for a winter treat, but the return of a fan-favorite item to Dairy Queen’s menu may just change your mind.

After being requested by fans, the restaurant chain has officially brought back their Frozen Hot Chocolate to participating locations nationwide!

The drink blends rich cocoa fudge with vanilla soft serve ice cream and is then garnished with whipped topping and a chocolate drizzle. It is available in small, medium or large for a limited time.

DQ made the announcement on Twitter, and it’s hard to argue with their reasoning: “It seems like we could all use more Frozen Hot Chocolate in our lives.”

If you’re a fan of this treat, you might want to try making your own frozen hot chocolate at home, too — it’s actually quite easy. This recipe from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe uses just three ingredients: chocolate milk, dry hot chocolate mix and ice. You can also add whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles if you wish.

You could also try making these hot chocolate floats, which call for a scoop of vanilla ice cream in hot chocolate, so the ice cream melts and creates a creamy drink. Or, if you want hot chocolate flavors but don’t want to make something yourself, you can find “Frrrozen Hot Chocolate” ice cream by Serendipity Brands at many grocery stores nationwide.

DQ’s fall Blizzard menu for this year is also out, and it’s bursting with other seasonal frozen treats. The pecan pie Blizzard, a blend of pecans, brown sugar pie pieces and caramel, is new for this year, and the pumpkin pie Blizzard has returned to make fall even sweeter. DQ’s Reese’s Pieces cookie dough, sea salt toffee fudge, Oreo mocha fudge, choco dipped strawberry and royal ultimate choco brownie Blizzards round out the seasonal menu.
