Bill Daniels is the coordinator of insurance outreach and counseling at Erie County Senior Services. He talked to Mel Camp about MIPPA. MIPPA is a federally funded program administered by Erie County to keep you healthy and save you money. It is a government program and it stands for Medicare Improvement Patient and Provider Act. It provides free services for preventive screenings at no cost to a person on Medicare. It also includes a program that New York State through a federal grant can pay your Medicare Part B premium and sometimes your Medicare Part A premium. It covers screenings for cancer, diabetes, depression and many others. Bill Daniels says it’s a good thing.
