School House 7 – the importance of water

We’ve been talking this week about health and sciences particularly the brain and the body and getting ready to learn. Today Jay Hall talks about an extremely important topic of water. Water is important because your body is around 60% water and your brain is 75% water. Your body loses water all day long through breathing, sweating and digestion. Water helps with healthy skin, fighting infections, boosting energy, getting rid of toxins and more.

Mr. O’Hare, who is the health teacher at the Eden middle and high school has two tips for us. The first tip is to try and drink 8 glasses of water a day. That will make you feel a lot better both physically and mentally. The second tip is to get a good sleep routine. Staying on a sleep schedule will help you feel better throughout the day. Remember strong body, strong mind.
