Today is Martin Luther King Day and today on Channel 7 at 3:30pm we are airing the Virtual Martin Luther King Celebration program. Bessie Patterson, organizer for the MLK day celebration tells us that special celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr.’s life and legacy and the theme for this special is Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Bessie Patterson says people being honored are people who are doing great things in the community because Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did great things and she believes that children nowadays can be just as great as Dr. Martin Luther King.
Rene Petties-Jones, president of NFJC of Western New York says Dr. Martin Luther King is such an inspirational figure to all of us, even these many years ago, it feels like just yesterday. She says his words are so very much still resonating in what we experience.
