Ivy Lea Construction only removes all existing shingles down to the roof deck. That way they can inspect your roof deck for any rot of the roof deck.
This is also a great time to inspect the insulation levels in your homes attic to make sure they are up to code. If you have large ice at the edge of your roof in the winter, you need more insulation for the harsh Buffalo freeze thaw cycle in the winter months.
Once they make any needed repairs to the roof deck Ivy Lea Construction will install 9’ of ice and water shield at the gutter edge of the roof and 3’ in the valleys. Ice shield will seal around any nail that penetrate through it, and sticks to the roof deck offering great extra protection under your shingles. This is needed to help prevent water back up into your home during the winter Months.
