Buffalo Auto Month – Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association

Over the past few weeks we have been talking about Buffalo Auto Month. Due to the pandemic, there was not an auto show that you could go to, but they set up a website, Buffaloautoshow.com where you can check out all the new information on new vehicles this year.

Emily Lampa talks with Paul Stasiak, the president of the Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association. Paul Stasiak say regrettably they can’t have people in cars, touching cars and window shop so what they tried to do is just pivot and transition. He says they didn’t want to do a virtual auto show because that doesn’t really capture it but maybe just create a website and a space where people can click on a manufacturer’s logo and it takes you in that landing page.

Historically, Stasiak says, the auto show is a coming out party and without a show they feared they would lose they would lose that momentum for our industry. The dealers rallied together, which is hard he says, to get 140 dealers under one umbrella for an auto month theme. They wanted to tell the public they still have new cars; they still have new technology; they still have great incentives and so the consumer who has a lease turning in February, March or April doesn’t lose that window of opportunity or better yet that window of education.

They are hoping this thing clears and the vaccine works and they can provide a safe environment so that come the end of May or in June they can do something bigger and better; a really fun event.
