What makes people feel sick and overweight?
We often blame dietary fat for these problems, but the real culprit may just be sugar. The average North American consumes a whopping 152 pounds of sugar each year. New research shows that sugar is biologically addictive; the more sugar you eat, the more you crave. The good news is that people can break the sugar addiction.
Surprisingly, some "healthy foods" such as yogurt and instant flavored oatmeal can pack in 20-30 grams (5-7 teaspoons) of unnecessary added sugar! It seems like we're drowning in sugar, and nobody is wearing a life vest.
