Dave and Patti stepped up several years ago to adopt, and take in, three biological children so they could stay together as a family.
In November Patti was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and brain cancer, and then just two months later her husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer. Quite astonishing!
Dave and Patti were instrumental in the successful fundraiser for Patti’s brother Ray Conta who was in need of a heart transplant. Although he received the heart transplant a couple years ago, he sadly passed away this past March. This devastated Dave and Patti at a time when they were fighting their own issues.
Because Dave retired last year, and Patti is unable to work due to her illness, they have minimal health insurance that will make paying for the treatments next to impossible.5. To help financially, and to alleviate some of the stress to his parents, their son Justin joined the US Air Force this past March. He recently graduated from basic training, and is headed to advanced training in Texas.
