The governor made an executive order that will now allow elective surgery procedures to be preformed in Erie County. They received notice from Catholic hospital that they are now allowed to schedule elective surgeries.

Dr. Sam Shatkin shares how his practice plans for their offices. Dr. Shatkin tells Melanie Camp that nothing is more important to him than the safety of his patients and staff. Most of his staff have been with him for many years and they are all like family. They are following guidelines from the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Society and CDC; critically guidelines to help prepare the space before patients come to the office, sanitize the rooms and wear gloves and PPE. Patients will be required to call them from the parking lot and when the room is ready they can come in. No one will be sitting in the waiting room. You will be checked in right away and brought to the treatment room that way you avoid any crossover with other patients who may be in the waiting area to minimize any risk t o patients as well as the staff. When asked when this will all happen Dr. Shatkin is pretty confident that by the end of May they will be back to doing business as usual which will be modified based on what was mentioned above.

The Aesthetic Associates also has a quarantine survival kit to help keep your skin healthy. You can find the products on their website. It’s a perfect Mother’s Day gift.

Dr. Sam Says the most important people right now are in all communities are the frontline workers. Tomorrow (May 8th) they are giving each one a moisturizer and hand sanitizer. They are going to deliver it to the COVID-19 hospital St. Joseph’s Hospital in Cheektowaga as well as the staff. Thank you health care workers for all you do.
