Kelly Springer, is a registered dietician from Kelly’s Choice. Today she has a delicious recipe that includes New York State apples. She is making a cranberry nut cheese ball. It is a mixture of savory and sweet that your entire family and guests are going to love plus it only takes 20 minutes to make.

Is the old saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” true or just an old wive’s tale? Kelly Springer says it’s true. Apples are loaded with nutrition plus they have fiber. Kelly says fiber helps your digestive tract and in your digestive tract it is responsible for 70% of your immunity so by feeding your body good fiber sources it actually helps boost your immunity plus they have vitamin C which can also boost your immunity.

In New York State there are over 600 apple farmers and we have over 55,000 acres of apples across New York State. It is amazing how many varieties and how many apples are grown right here in our state says Kelly Springer.
