Public Relations consultant Jennifer Parker offers her clients strategic marketing with style.

Parker is the lead consultant for Jackson Parker Communications, and the the brainchild behind many of the local, thoughtful public relations and marketing campaigns you see every day.

Parker has a laundry list of clients, but these days you may have seen her talking about the Buffalo business competition 43 North.  She works to make sure minority and female applicants from around the country apply, and also encourages local businesses to take part.

Just this year, Parker organized an offshoot of 43 North called "The Pitch" which is a smaller business competition for local minority and women-owned businesses.  The three winning entrepreneurs will get a slice of $20,000.

And Parker knows the importance of entrepreneurship.  Not only is she one herself, but she's also active in the Success Looks Like Me program, which exposes minority students to different careers through hands-on field trips.

"We introduce students to an array of professionals.  Successful professionals of color that we call that look like you.  And the whole thing is that the professionals share their journey to success," she said.

It's clear Jennifer Parker is one woman who is leading the charge in Western New York.
