BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - It's a night out that allows you to get a little dirty. Jennifer Hastings runs Plant Nite Buffalo, an event that gives you the tools to make an awesome terrarium full of fresh succulents, rocks and other fun decorations.
"I really enjoy anything where I'm working with my hands," Hastings said. "I find it to be very therapeutic and I just enjoy creating things.
Hastings sets up shop at local restaurants, bars and breweries. She teaches you how to plant and take care of your new greenery.
"It's a fun night out where they could connect rather than be on your cell phones, computers...you don't have those things to distract you and you can really enjoy connecting with other people," she said.
So what's the key to taking care of succulents?
The number one killer is over watering. Hastings says to give the plants sunlight and little sprays of water from time to time.
All the plants are locally grown, and you can choose from an array of different arrangements and decorations.
