A plane of 33 dogs (all adult pitbull mix/retriever mix) arrived at Prior Aviation Monday as shelters in South Florida needed to make more room for dogs affected by Hurricane Irma.

The dogs are distributed between three shelters, the SPCA representing Erie County, the Chemung SPCA, and a shelter in Toronto.

Gary Willoughby, the president of the SPCA representing Erie County, said that these dogs could be ready for adoption as soon as tomorrow and all of them may be adopted by the end of this week due to the fact that they are coming from something as high profile as Hurricane Irma.

"I think all of these guys we're taking in will be adopted within the week."

If you are interested in adopting one of these dogs, you can visit the SPCA's website here.
