Don't be afraid to look for a new job during the pandemic

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — As our leaders dangle the possibility of another shutdown, creating some uncertainty about jobs, there is a silver lining.

If you've been stuck in a job, or you've been looking for that sign or signal to start the job hunt, here it is.

While many employers are thinking about possible layoffs--or furloughs--many others are hiring.

Alcott HR is a human resources company with offices in Buffalo and on Long Island.

Kristen Russo is the HR Operations Manager. She says you shouldn't be afraid to look for a job during the pandemic.

"I think maybe switching things up is okay," Russo said. "You don't know what opportunities are out there. We're seeing a lot of new opportunities come about there's a lot of companies out there that are looking for good people that can fill these jobs that have a unique skill set."

Russo says it's okay to explore your options.

"Worst case scenario, if you have a job now and you start interviewing and they offer you a job, you can always say no and stay with where you are," Russo said.
