When we think of March, we think of spring. But winter wasn't ready to release its grip on WNY.

I mean, who else thought we'd be shoveling more in March than in February?

And because of all the cold and snow that fell in March, something is about to occur that hasn't happened since 1984, not since The Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, The Natural were in a theater near you.

That's right, March will end up colder than February. It's happened eight other times in the history of record keeping in Buffalo. Make that nine times, including this year.

February of 2017 was the warmest February on record. March likely ends up averaging 33.0F. This is about a degree colder than where we should be. As of Wednesday, we're sitting at 32.3F.

Will April end up colder than March? Odds are an astounding no! It's only happened one other time, back in 2012.

It'll be an up and down start to April, with temperatures swinging between the 40s and 50s.
