When the Buffalo Sabres take the ice to start the 2017-2018 season, it appears they'll have a new look. According to SportsLogos.net, the Sabres are one of at least 12 teams that will undergo an offseason jersey change.

The report didn't go into any specifics regarding the potential changes, but did indicate it's possible the alterations could be minor.

Other teams reportedly in line for mini-makeovers include the Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, and Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Later this summer, every NHL team will reveal their 'new' jerseys as the league changes from Reebok to Addidas.

Bove's Take:

Excuse me, as I stand on my metaphoric soapbox.

I'm all for some tweaks to the Sabres jersey and agree with SportsLogos.net opinion on the current silver piping -- it needs to go.

That being said, I'm a firm believer that the Sabres should revert back to the shade of blue we saw featured on their 40th-anniversary jerseys. Take the jerseys the Sabres have now, get rid of the silver lines and change the primary color from navy blue to royal blue. Gorgeous.

I don't want to make it sound like I dislike the Sabres current jersey. In fact, I think they are some of the better sweaters in the league. But Buffalo’s jerseys could be one of the absolute best if they lightened the shade of blue.

Here's to hoping.
