FLOP, Williamsville win semifinal games to meet in Section VI girls hockey finals

Winner will advance to NYSPHSAA semifinals

Fronteir/Lakeshore/Orchard Park and Williamsville will meet for the Section VI Championship.

In the first semifinal game, #1 seed FLOP beat #4 seed Lancaster/Iroquois/Depew, 5-1.

FLOP built a 3-0 lead after one period of play and never looked back. Jessica Peters had two goals for the winners while Tori Fadeley, Emily Kromer and Mary Kromer all added one.

In the second semifinal game, #3 Williamsville beat #2 seed Clarence/Amherst/Sweet Home 6-2.

Williamsville built an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Kelly Dormer and Rachel Juneau (short-handed). CASH came back to tie things up with a pair of goals from Charleigh Rondeau and Emma Faso.

After that it was all Williamsville thanks to their eventual game-winning goal from Amanda Gaffney and a hat trick from Holly Schmelzer. Jenna Lukomski added 20 saves in the win.

The Championship game will be played Wednesday at 8pm at the Northtown Center.
