As the calendar has turned from January to February and slowly to March, both the UB Men's and Women's basketball teams are getting hot at just the right time.

Behind 23 points from Blake Hamilton, who also hit five 3-pointers, the Bulls won their sixth straight game, improving to 15-12 and 9-5 in Mid-American Conference play with an impressive 71-58 win over Miami (OH).

Dontay Caruthers chipped in with 12, while Willie Conner added 11.

Defensively, the Bulls held the RedHawks to a lowly 37 percent from the floor.

On their current streak UB is averaging 87 points per game.

The Bulls have now won four of their last six games, improving to 17-7 overall and 7-6 in conference action. They also picked up an 11th win at Alumni Arena, the most home wins in 14 years.

Grand Island native Cassie Oursler collected a career-high five blocks, while Stephanie Reid and Joanna Smith combined to 32 points.

As a team forced 21 Zip turnovers and combined for 12 steals.

Every player that entered the game scored at least two points for the Bulls.
